Drop Your “Stuff” Into Dropbox

Share your stuff in the cloud!I love the idea of moving as much “stuff” as possible into “the cloud” for all of the obvious reasons…

I have nothing to back-up, no worries about my computer dying, or being lost, and I can get at my “stuff” from anywhere.

That’s been working great for me (and, my clients) for email, scheduling, documents, and more, but there was always “stuff” – Some odd file, or something that just “fell through the cracks.”

Dropbox has changed my way of dealing with that “stuff.”

Dropbox is a free service (and free is good!) that provides you with 2 GB of online storage (but read-on to get even more storage for free), and which provides simple, lightweight programs you download to “hook it up” to your Windows, Linux, and Mac computers, as well as for your Android and Apple mobile devices (iPhone & iPad).

Nearly 220 contributors worked for more than six months to ready this latest major milestone, and it’s got plenty of good stuff to make the upgrade worthwhile.

Not familiar with WordPress? Well, odds are that you’re familiar with some of the sites that use it, such as CNN, Yahoo, Martha Stewart, Forbes, Network Solutions, and more.

Nearly every WordPress site I’ve developed and deployed for clients has included custom themes and plugins that made me a little nervous about using the “upgrade automatically” feature in WordPress.

A Small Improvement in Gmail Contacts

I find it hard to believe that I’m the first person to notice this (and I follow the blogosphere pretty closely), but when I fired-up Gmail this morning, and went to add a contact, I found a subtle (but welcome) improvement.

It used to be that the contact fields, “Title,” and “Company” were buried down in the “More Information” section.

Now, they’re more conveniently located beneath the name:
