Dolphin Web Browser For Smartphones

Like many people carrying a smartphone these days, I prefer the Android platform. Not only is it free from Apple’s dictatorship, it’s the best (and easiest) way to synchronize email, calendars, and documents with a Google Apps for Business account in near real-time.

That’s why the majority of my clients use it as well.

So, I’ve set-up & configured a lot of Android phones for people, and have always been frustrated with Android’s big shortcoming… It’s web browser isn’t the fastest, most feature rich thing around, which I always found surprising, since Google (Android’s maker) is behing the best web browser for computers – Google chrome.

So, one of the first things I do when I set-up a new Android phone, is to replace the stock browser, and my current browser of choice is Dolphin Browser HD from Mobo Tap.

The good folks over at Google have put together a David Letterman-like “Top Ten List,” Highlighting some of the top reasons organizations around the world have entrusted Google Apps as the repository for their business data.

There are some pretty compelling arguments that make it difficult to justify not switching to Google.

The savings that result from no longer needing to pay for maintenance and updates alone is enough to justify the move, not to mention the high availability,  added security, and disaster recovery benefits.

Google+ is Social Networking Redefined

Google+ (pronounced “Google Plus”) is the all-too-cool new social networking endeavor from Google that many are calling the “Facebook killer.”

Cashing-in on Facebook’s notorious privacy issues, and lack of control (how do you post something to your friends about your escapades last weekend without your parents seeing?).

Having grown to more than 20 million users in its first two weeks (It took Facebook more than 2 1/2 years to get that many users), it’s catching-on like wildfire.

Android is Most Popular Smartphone Platform

The folks over at Mashable are reporting that Google’s Android  operating system has now surpassed all others to become the world’s most popular mobile phone platform.

According to the post, Android’s now at the top of the list, surpassing Nokia, Blackberry, and iPhone sales in Q4 2010.
