Google+ (pronounced “Google Plus”) is the all-too-cool new social networking endeavor from Google that many are calling the “Facebook killer.”

Cashing-in on Facebook’s notorious privacy issues, and lack of control (how do you post something to your friends about your escapades last weekend without your parents seeing?).

Having grown to more than 20 million users in its first two weeks (It took Facebook more than 2 1/2 years to get that many users), it’s catching-on like wildfire.

We’re upgrading our database servers at the Los Angeles data center tonight, and the techs there tell us that any down-time should be less than a minute.

The “big science” starts at midnight (Pacific), and only affects sites running out of the Santa Monica data center, and which depend on MySQL.

That includes all sites built using WordPress.

WordPress is continuing its climb to CMS fame, according to some impressive stats by Water & Stone.

Of note in the report, “The Big Three – WordPress, Joomla! and Drupal – remain firmly in command of the market,” and “WordPress has taken the lead in brand strength after a strong growth year.”

We couldn’t agree more.
