A Small Improvement in Gmail Contacts

I find it hard to believe that I’m the first person to notice this (and I follow the blogosphere pretty closely), but when I fired-up Gmail this morning, and went to add a contact, I found a subtle (but welcome) improvement.

It used to be that the contact fields, “Title,” and “Company” were buried down in the “More Information” section.

Now, they’re more conveniently located beneath the name:

    Hi Tom!

If that excites you, I bet you’ll love the the Mail Labs features that are available. Go to Settings and click on the Labs tab. There’s some very cool stuff in there. I personally find the Tasks List a great way to stay organized with ‘work stuff’ that comes in via email.

    Enjoy!

Matt… Yes, there is some interesting stuff in Labs. The task list is an interesting start, but since a “task” generally involves a person (or, persons) and/or an appointment and/or one or more emails (and/or one or more documents), I can’t wait until they allow the linking of a task to contact(s), the calendar, and more than one email! However, it’s definitely a step in the right direction!
